13-Year-Old Builds Own House For $1.5k, Reveals 89 Sq Ft Masterpice When He Opens Door

At 13, Luke Thill of Dubuque, Iowa, built his own tiny home with a budget of $1,500, raised through odd jobs. Now 17, Luke’s fascination with tiny houses began after discovering them on YouTube. With his parents’ support and community assistance, he completed his 89-square-foot home, featuring a functional kitchen, living room, and lofted bed area.

Luke’s tiny house became a haven for friends, hosting movie nights and even Thanksgiving dinner. At 14, Luke and his twin brother Cole built a 36-square-foot teardrop camper for $2,500, using it for over 50 camping trips.

Now a high school junior, Luke plans to become a paramedic, inspired by his journey with tiny homes. He values the skills and experiences gained from these projects.
